OPENING SEAL

Via Deōrum — the Way of the Gods
Iter Maiōrum — the Path of the Ancestors
Dō ut dēs — I give that You may give
Fiat voluntās deōrum — let the will of the Gods be done

I — THE KINDLING

Holy Mother Vesteria, who art Hestia and Vesta in one eternal name—first flame and final flame, abiding fire in the heart of the unseen world—

Be Thou present here.

We call not upon Thee as one absent, but behold Thee where Thou hast ever dwelt, and in beholding, draw near.

Be revealed within this flame.

Be known within this sanctuary.

II — DESCENT OF THE SACRED FIRE

From the still and shining heights of Olympos, from that changeless fire beyond the borders of time, descend Thou in gentleness into this small and mortal light— not diminished in Thy coming, but made intimate thereby.

Let that which abides above become also that which abides herein.

Let Heaven incline itself near unto the Earth, and let the Earth remember it hath not been forsaken.

Let this place become a meeting of worlds— where the immortal and the mortal stand together in reverence and right order.

III — THE BLESSING OF THE FLAME

Bless Thou, O Vesteria, this consecrated fire—

Queen of the sacred hearth, governess of the eternal threshold.

Let it burn clear, steadfast, and pure.

May it not devour in disorder nor consume without counsel, but hold all things within it in measure, harmony, and sacred balance.

Let it be Thy holy habitation among us—

a living sign that the Gods remain near unto humankind and that divine communion endureth from age unto age.

IV — THE TEMPLE AS SACRED SPACE

Bless Thou this sanctuary and all who enter therein.

Let this place be established in peace, beauty, and right relation to the divine order.

Let every threshold be made holy.

Let every wall be dedicated unto reverence.

Let every gathering within these bounds tend toward wisdom, virtue, and sacred fellowship.

May those who enter burdened depart strengthened.

May those who enter divided depart reconciled.

May those who enter seeking find themselves drawn nearer unto the Gods.

Let this flame stand as the living center of this temple—

where prayers ascend, offerings are received, and communion between Heaven and Earth is renewed.

V — THE GODS REMEMBERED

We render honour to all the Gods—

known and unknown, named and ineffable—

those who uphold the harmony and order of the cosmos in their eternal stewardship.

May their presence be gracious and favourable here.

May each receive due honour according to Their nature.

May concord dwell among the divine powers, and may their blessings flow forth upon all who worship in sincerity.

VI — THE HOLY ANCESTORS AND THE AGATHOS DAIMON

We call upon the Agathos Daimon of this sacred place—

good and guiding spirit of its life, its memory, and its continuing destiny.

Guard this temple in peace and right order.

Preserve what is good within it.

Correct what hath fallen into disorder.

Lead all who serve herein toward wisdom and noble purpose.

And we remember the holy ancestors—

those who preserved the sacred ways before us;

those known by name and those whose names are forgotten;

all who handed forward devotion from one generation unto another.

May their memory remain blessed.

May their virtues continue among the living.

May the chain between the dead, the living, and those yet unborn remain unbroken.

VII — THE GENIUS OF THE COMMUNITY

We give honour to the Genius abiding within each soul—

that quiet and consecrated divine companion who walketh beside every life from its beginning.

And we honour also the shared spirit born wherever people gather in goodwill and sacred purpose.

May every soul be strengthened in its proper becoming.

May every gift find its rightful expression.

May those assembled here become companions in virtue, wisdom, and mutual care.

Let none lose the thread of their own deep and holy nature.

Let each heart remember what it is.

VIII — THE LIVING PRESENCE OF VESTERIA

Holy Mother Vesteria, remain Thou with us—

in flame and in silence,

in warmth and in stillness,

in prayer and in offering,

in celebration and in mourning,

in every season and through every generation.

Let this fire be Thy presence made near and knowable.

Let this temple become a faithful image of the greater order of the Gods.

May all who enter here encounter beauty, reverence, truth, and peace.

And may this sanctuary stand for many generations as a beacon of sacred continuity and divine friendship.
