Lus Divinum: Scroll I: The Daily Prayer of the Sacred Home

The Daily Prayer of the Sacred Home

Veiling

(Veil or bow the head)

As I veil my head, I veil before the divine—may this covering set me apart in reverence, not in distance, and draw my thoughts toward the holy light unseen.

Rubric

Place the hands in prayer, left hand beneath the right, with the right hand resting slightly above the fingertips of the left. From this posture, touch the three places in order while speaking the words.

Via Deōrum (forehead)

I walk the way of the Gods.

Iter Maiōrum (lips)

I walk the path of the Ancestors.

Dō ut dēs (Heart)

I give, so that you may give.

Rubric

Release the hands from the prayer posture. Extend them outward from the heart and open them, palms up. Lift the open hands slightly as the head bows and lowers.

Fiat voluntās deōrum

(open hands palms up, then slightly raise them and bow the head)

Let the will of the Gods be done.

Rubric of use

All prayers in this Codex are opened and closed with the Tri-Covenant, whether spoken aloud, spoken silently, or enacted by gesture alone.

Oratio Cotidiana Domus Sacrae

To Vestaria

Vestaria Mater, flame of this home, be present in this fire and keep this place made holy.

Rubric:

• Light or tend the flame or candle.

• Offer one drop of oil to the fire, or one drop of water or milk to the altar.

• If nothing physical is available, offer attention and reverence—a conscious breath, gratitude for shelter, or the intention to keep this home pure in word and deed.

To the Lares

Salvete, Lares familiares, guardians of our thresholds and our ways. Watch over this house, all who dwell within it, and all who depart from it and return again.

Rubric:

• Offer one drop of water, milk, wine, or oil.

• If oil is used and flame is present, it may be given to the fire.

• If no physical offering is available, offer care and mindfulness—a moment of awareness of those who live with you, those who have passed through, and those who will return.

To the Penates

Salvete, Di Penates, keepers of our stores and sustainers of our life bless our food, our labor, and our provision, that there be no want and no forgetting.

Rubric:

• Offer one drop of milk, water, wine, or oil.

• If no material offering is possible, offer gratitude for what sustains you, however small—food eaten, work done, help received, or strength to continue.

To the Genius / Iuno

Genius (male) / Iuno (Female) / Daímōn (non-binary), spirit of my life and measure of my becoming, stand with me in strength, clarity, and right fortune.

Rubric:

• Offer one drop of water or wine.

• If nothing physical is given, offer self-honesty and intention—the resolve to act with dignity, balance, and care for your own well-being.

To the Manes

Manes parentum, honored dead and living memory, remember us kindly as we remember you, and keep our line rooted in wisdom and truth.

Rubric:

Offer one drop of water, milk, or wine.

• This may be poured into a vessel or onto the earth.

• If no physical offering is possible, offer remembrance—speak a name silently, recall a lesson, or hold gratitude for those whose lives made yours possible.

Closing

Receive this offering and this remembrance,

given in goodwill and clean intent.

Estote volentes propitii

mihi, domui, familiaeque nostrae.

Be willing and favorable

to me, to this home, and to our household.

  • Perform the tri-Covenant Seal

So it is.

Bene valete.

Rubric:

• Touch the lararium, bow the head, or simply pause in stillness.

• The rite is complete whether offerings were material or immaterial, for intent rightly given is itself a true gift.

Canonical Principle (Stated Plainly)

In Unitus Panthea Religiones, offering is not measured by substance but by sincerity. When the hand is empty, the heart, mind, and will may still give. This prayer is now complete, durable, and livable—for homes of abundance and homes of survival alike.
